Teofimo Lopez isn’t shy about calling his shots. During a recent Fight Hub TV interview promoting his upcoming bout with Steve Claggett, Lopez quickly steered the conversation towards his ultimate goals.

“The top dog, the undisputed king – that’s Terence ‘Blood’ Crawford,” Lopez proclaimed, leaving no doubt about his desired opponent.

This wasn’t just bravado. Even with news of Crawford’s upcoming fight at 154 pounds against Israil Madrimov, Lopez remained undeterred.

“Super welterweight? No sweat,” Lopez said. “Others have done it, why not me?”

Lopez’s words transcended ambition. They revealed a deep-seated confidence and a willingness to confront the elite across weight divisions.

At a young age (24), Lopez recognizes the gravity of facing Crawford. It’s a chance to conquer a legend and solidify his own legacy as a generational talent.

But Lopez’s hunger doesn’t stop there. He also yearns to clash with Gervonta “Tank” Davis, the undefeated WBA lightweight champion known for his terrifying knockout power.

“Crawford first,” Lopez explained, “because his reign is nearing its end.”

“He’s the undisputed champ. Beat him, then we can talk about ‘Tank,’ the mini-me.”
